The Role
To manage and control all areas relative to the technical aspects of product safety and quality in compliance with customer and legal requirements within the constraints of an agreed budget.Building customer confidence in the quality standards and processes which apply within the business.
To work with all other senior mangers within the business in raising awareness, training and increasing line ownership of quality issues to ensure that finished products conform to all aspects of safety, quality and legality as defined by customer specifications, technical and legal requirements.
To deputise for the technical controller in their absence
There are two key direct reporting areas:
·Manage and lead the QA compliance team
·Manage and lead the factory QA quality team
·Facilitate the development of the above teams by means of clear objective setting and 1-1 meetings
·Carry out annual performance appraisals of direct reports
The Person
Graduate in Food Science
Experience in a similar technical role in the food industry, preferably working with major multiples.
All round knowledge of:
§Relevant food and related legislation
§Quality management system and BRC
§Continual improvement techniques and methods.
§Effective team development
§Food manufacturing systems.
§Budgetary control
This position will suit an individual who can drive improvements and who is prepared to challenge in order to create a quality culture
