The Role
- Develop activities in thermal processing that lead to the generation of new business manage and conduct contract and training projects
- Provide technical advice to clients
- Prepare technical reports on the outcomes of projects and other activities
- Ability to travel to client sites within the UK and beyond
- Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology or closely related area
- Knowledge of thermal processing. Aseptic technology an advantage
- Project Management experience
- Commercial skills to price and negotiate contracts with external clients
- Experience of hands on R&D for the food sector
- Proven ability to work with clients to define their needs and communicate the results for R&D activity
- Evidence of ability to communicate results to peers and clients through publications and/or presentations
The Person
- Ability to plan and manage projects from initiation, through experimental design to reporting and commercial exploitation
- Ability to work within defined timescales and budgets
- A team player, happy to work in multi disciplinary teams
- Innovative approach and a self starter
- Commercial awareness of the food industry
