Privately owned company within the meat industry that has been producing and supplying the highest quality meat grown in South Wales.They are passionate about their products and state that their meat is exceptionally tender and whether a customer islooking for beef, pork, lamb, chicken or wild game, they will not be able to purchase fresher or more flavoursome meat.
They boast a diverse route to market utilising direct sales through retail outlets and online in addition to supply food service clients
The Role
Reporting to the Director, as the most senior technical presence on site, you will take day to day responsibility for all technical issues:
·Provide vital liaison to customers as the main point of contact for all technical issues including audits
·Liaise closely with operations to overcome challenges, proactively trouble shooting problem areas
·Manage and develop the technical / quality function
·Provide technical advice to production
·Monitor and report on compliance issues
·Take responsibility for food safety issues
The Person
- Food Science degree or equivalent
- Ideally a background within a meat but not essential
- Experience of managing customer and supplier relationships
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive through efficiencies
- Comfortable working autonomously
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- BRC experience
