Warehouse Operations Manager – 884326 – £Generous

GENERAL:

  • Review resource requirements within Logistics, Warehouse & POS areas & make recommendations to improve with the changing demands of the growing business and customer requirements
  • Work with the Finance Team to model and cost the option of providing our transport as opposed 3PL
  • Research drop-ship opportunities and costs for future customer requirements.
  • Review, propose and agree with COO KPIs for each area responsible
  • Implement departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Review & propose WMS or alternative system
  • Understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these in line with Directors expectations
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Visit customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving
  • Respect & embrace the diverse nature of the company culture and ethos
  • Review SLA for area of responsibility and co-ordinate matrix of renewals for advance planning as well as summarising top level services signed up for by agreement.

LOGISTICS:

  • Proactively seek the very highest of standards and improvements in 3PL performance Manage OTIF performance of 3PL providers to 98.5%
  • Research new services & technology available for the company to bring them up to the forefront of new advances to ultimately add value to the business
  • Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs & continuously iterate improvements
  • If, in the event of any fails, then liaise proactively with the upmost professionality with customers verbally at the earliest opportunity to mitigate any potential damage to reputation
  • Continually use data to evaluate performance and quality & make improvements for the betterment of the company and the teams
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs whether promotional, peak periods or any other needs
  • Continually review to negate &/or improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
  • Plan vehicle routes where required
  • Constantly iterate & improve all areas, making suggestions with justification to the COO
  • Plan and improve the loading & unloading of trucks and especially shipping containers
  • Negotiate tenders, rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers, liaising with the COO at all times to ensure the highest of standards
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency
  • Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria, ensuring root cause is identified and corrective actions put in place to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
  • Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock
  • Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process
  • Interpret trends and analyse and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organisation to aid customer service and cost improvements

WAREHOUSE:

  • Plan future capacity requirements
  • Plan & organise the warehouse for the maximum efficiency using Pareto or better means with regards most frequent picked & sold stock versus least sold & slow moving
  • Re-visit the organisation of the warehouse layout by stock location for maximum efficiency no less than bi-annually
  • Undertake two full stock counts per year
  • Instigate continual cycle counting
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports
  • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure integrity of inventory and system records
  • Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
  • Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
  • Manage stock control and reconciliation in line with business strict requirements
  • Improve standards of health and safety and security in the work environment
  • Improve the cleanliness of the warehouse
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
  • Setup layout and ensure the most efficient space utilization
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements

Point of Sales (POS):

  • Proactively liaise & co-ordinate the advanced needs of POS for all needs such as customers, photo shoots & exhibitions to ensure the smooth flow of work and on time availability
  • POS department management, upkeep, maintenance & safety of team & machinery
  • POS strict cost control and iteration of improvements for management of build and costs
  • Ad hoc projects as deemed required by Directors
