Location: South West Wales

The Role:

  • Supporting the Operations Manager in the effective delivery of manufacturing performance within the organisation
  • Supporting the Operations Manager in the effective delivery and compliance of management processes, methods and tools to provide a safe, efficient and effective manufacturing environment
  • Supporting the Operations Manager in achieving organisational objectives linked to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Environmental targets and improvement initiatives
  • Enabling the Manufacturing Team to demonstrate drive and initiative, through improving themselves and those around them, in the building of an organisational culture focused on meeting and exceeding delivery expectations
  • Monitor output of materials from production, ensuring they comply with the shift KPI requirements (quantity and quality)
  • Ensure that packaging and handling standards are met and/or exceeded at all times, to prevent transit damage and ensure that the customer’s order has been completed in full
  • Support the effective induction and awareness training for all new manufacturing employees to allow them to perform their role safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Focus on solutions to change staff behaviours to drive a reduction in accidents or incidents
  • Support in the effective delivery of performance management expectations within the business to ensure the manufacturing team are meeting and/or exceeding the expectations set out within their job descriptions
  • Support in the effective creation, control and management of skills matrices within the organisation
  • Operating production equipment and tooling to cut and finish materials, including: wall saw and hand tools

The Person:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within batch manufacturing, leading staff and responsible for KPI management
  • Hold an IOSHH or NEBOSHH qualification
  • Desirable: Lean/Six Sigma trained
  • GCSE min C level English and Maths is required
  • Proven track record of motivating teams in positive behaviours, with a “do as I do” mentality
  • Demonstratable ability to work in a changing work environment, while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
  • Proven experience of utilising creative thinking to determine the most effective commercial outcome possible to support delivering a company’s Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery expectations
  • Desirable: Forklift experience, training is offered
  • Computer literacy: Essential: Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • This role is in a physical environment, you will be required to lift heavy items and so need to be in good physical condition and happy to manually handle heavy products on a daily basis
