Reporting directly to the Managing Director, and responsible for the efficiency of the Warehouse, Logistics, Point of Sale, Purchasing, Shipping, NPD and Technical/Quality/Compliance functions.  This is a developing role as such core responsibilities may change according to the needs of the organization.

Collaborate with the MD in setting and driving the operational strategy and hiring needs.  Reinforcement with demonstrable action aligned to the culture of a high performance, learning environment. Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement operational goal setting, performance management, annual operating planning and importantly systems development to scale.

The requirement is to help scale the business with predefined strategic objectives and develop systems to optimize.  The organization is very much data driven performance and KPIs, dashboard visualization and analytics. Major focus is on optimization of systems and process improvement, documenting best practice and constant iteration across the business.

Responsible for an efficient Operations Department (Warehouse, Logistics & Point of Sale) that always runs effectively with the ability to cope during peak seasons.

  • Weekly meeting to be held with Operations Manager.
  • Drive continual improvements & optimizations through the department to reduce costs and improve our service.
  • KPI’s to be refreshed to ensure they are relevant.
  • Fully responsible for Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Ensure principles of lean are implemented and continuous improvement methodology is embraced.
  • Third party logistics management and tender management.
  • Installation of POS – drive continual improvement through this area of the business to reduce costs and improve our service.
  • Implementation of our own fleet is a consideration ahead to improve costs and the customer experience.
  • All aspects of Health and Safety maintained 100%.
  • All facilities and machinery management.
  • Transfer and delivery of products to and from the US operation incorporating the varying legislation, tax, and duty.
  • Ensure all maintenance contracts are up to date and effectively managed.
  • Vehicle management to ensure a well-maintained fleet that is fully compliant with legal obligations. To investigate and implement the most cost-effective fleet.
  • Ensure resource cover is organized for all roles within the functions.
  • Capacity planning.
  • Space utilization.
  • Major projects include new warehouse build.

Responsible for managing an effective Procurement Team balancing highest quality with lowest cost and meeting strategically predefined requirements

Responsible for managing an efficient NPD Team to ensure all products are successfully developed on time in line with the company’s critical path.

Responsible to manage an efficient QA Team to ensure customer, product and demands are met


The Person:

  • Batchelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar
