Finance Manager – 884096 – to £43000


As Finance Manager, it is all about being organised, good at planning, and a strong communicator and motivator. It’s important to ensure the team is clear on what their contribution and responsibility is. The job also involves being able to prioritise ad-hoc or unexpected demands and provide support to myself where required.


  • Present weekly business performance KPIs to Senior Team
  • Ensure adherence with internal financial procedures and mandates
  • Oversee and adhere to standard PAYE, VAT and pension return reporting
  • Support the ongoing development and management of robust financial procedures and systems
  • Oversee cash flow management
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting process
  • Manage and liaise with auditors on submission of year end audit information requirements
  • Have overall responsibility for the management of and preparation/analysis relating to:
  • Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet including:
    • Budget
    • Forecast
    • Variance analysis thereon
  • Direct Costs including
    • Efficiencies, substitutions, labour, materials and stocks
    • Costing of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Overhead costs including
    • SG&A analysis
    • Salaries and departmental expenditure
    • Variance analysis
  • Working Capital and Cashflow Management
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Spending reviews against budget
  • To delegate for direct reports and line manager as required in their absence

The Person:


  • Committed and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence the finance team and build strong working relationships with other teams to ensure success
  • High numeracy and technical skills with a proactive, analytical approach
  • Display commercial and business awareness
  • Trustworthy and confidential
  • Good time management skills and strong prioritisation skills with ability to work within tight deadlines, delivering consistently accurate work against targets
  • High level of accuracy, initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills – both verbal and written
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Desire to develop, both personally and professionally


  • Previous manufacturing experience
