Production Manager – Rotating shifts – 884367 – £Competitive
Shift pattern – Rotation 3 weekly (6am-2pm, 9am – 5pm, 4pm – 12am)
A vacancy has arisen for a Factory Manager. This role reports directly to the Head of Operations. This role is intrinsic to the successful running of the business. You will manage teams across a production shift/ area, coordinating activities and resources to ensure production plans are delivered profitably and efficiently, on time and in line with quality standards. You’ll take accountability for health and safety, people management and development, and work in collaboration with other managers and business departments to meet the overall objectives of the business
The Role:
Key Duties:
- Driving continuous improvement in Manufacturing Performance, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Fire Prevention performance.
- Developing the operational team, including appraisals, up-skilling, performance management and mentoring.
- Liaising closely with Technical, Engineering and NPD departments to ensure that high volume, high quality product standards are maintained throughout
- Being responsible for food safety issues in the area and taking decisive action when required to halt production activity if food safety is compromised
The Person:
Extensive experience in FMCG production, within a Retailer driven environment, and a proven track record of achievement
A resilient, credible leadership style with the ability to inspire, coach and develop your team Leadership skills – the ability to maximise the potential of the team
Passionate and focussed about achieving excellent Safety & Environmental performance
The ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance. Not afraid to challenge others
The ability to work, under pressure, on your own initiative and to ‘think outside the box’
Strong customer focus with previous experience of customer audits including BRC
An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles and methodologies, and how and when to use appropriate tools and techniques A good understanding of the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, Process Control documentation, Hygiene schedules and processes, HACCP, Audit standards, Personal Hygiene as they relate to the team and area
