Engineering Manager – 883805

 

The role:

 

To effectively manage front line activities of their direct reports during their rostered hours, to lead and coach the team and others to create a culture of world class standards.  Support electrical and mechanical maintenance of all process and packaging equipment.

 

  • Provide leadership and contribute in a tangible way to the implementation and maintenance of the HSE & Quality process on site
  • Ensure Permit To Work compliance and enforce all site H & S rules
  • Ensure quality and hygiene procedures are adhered to and all work undertaken conforms with them
  • To complete all predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance work orders as detailed in the departmental work load plan
  • Recommend amendments to the installation maintenance plan in light of maintenance and inspection history
  • Develop and implement improvement plans for allocated equipment to increase efficiency and technical availability
  • Work with the Maintenance and CI Supervisor to develop and implement annual overhaul plans for allocated equipment
  • Coach and mentor colleagues embracing shared knowledge to develop their skills and strengthen the engineering team
  • Develop an atmosphere of change that will positively contribute towards the advancement of all functions relating to the manufacturing operation embracing the lean culture
  • Generate and review plant and maintenance documentation and critical procedures
  • Conduct bench overhaul activities on designated repairable components
  • Accountability for withdrawing stock from engineering stores in line with the procedures
  • Conduct second line fault finding on plant upsets and equipment malfunctions, implementing suitable corrective actions
  • Initiates Causal analysis investigations into plant upsets and equipment malfunctions
  • Records/registers stop information into the CMMS system to assist in continuous improvement groups and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Maintain changes to technical library
  • Manage and provide technical support to local and capital projects
  • Conduct audits to measure and improve effectiveness of Site Engineering function and sites health and safety functions

  • Experience of supervising engineering and maintenance with a FMCG environment
  • Financial awareness
  • IT literacy
  • Knowledge of business systems
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance
  • Use of Computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Recognised time served apprenticeship in engineering
  • ILM level 3
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • Food manufacturing experience essential
