Overview:

  • Proactive and genuinely interested in new food and beverages.
  • Accuracy in all records is essential, so a good level of literacy and numeracy is key.
  • Projects delivered on time and on budget.
  • The Development of Beverage products to the Customer’s agreed brief, ensuring that the Company procedures and controlled documents are fully utilised, ensuring traceability and good practise in all functions.
  • Recipe Formulation – that ensures all product requirements, organoleptic, processing and legal are achievable, to be backed up with written evidence where relevant.
  • Attending co-packer’s sites for trials as required.
  • Some International travel may be required.
  • Maintain the Product Development system.
  • Customer information to be correct and legible.
  • Attending customer sites when required
  • Cost conscious, creating viable new products.
  • Build rapport with customers, providing feedback when required by the project.
  • Regularly updating customers to ensure they remain informed.
  • Developing an understanding all requirements for e.g. Brand standards
  • Ingredient sourcing from accredited suppliers, wherever possible*, to BRC / ISO / ILS / FDA standards / approval
  • Work proactively in building good ongoing relationships with Suppliers
  • Research into new ingredients, trends, processing,

Role Requirements:

  • Experience gained across and a range of food and beverage categories.
  • Being on top of food trends, new ingredients, and process technologies
  • Someone with the appetite and potential to progress their career further in Product Development.
  • Educated to degree level (or its equivalent) in a food technology or food science-based subject.
  • 1+ years product development experience
  • A proactive self-starter
  • Curious and enthusiastic about food & drink
  • A people person comfortable making new contacts and maintaining relationships.
  • Methodical and organised, someone who can stick to deadlines, and follow procedure.
  • A team player who can influence without relying on job titles.
  • A problem solver, willing to make the improvements you identify, as if it were your own business.
