The Role
Product enhancement, product improvement, cost reduction, evaluation of alternative raw material suitability and process improvement projects including developing recipes, processing procedures and specifications to meet Business strategies. This will involve liaison with both internal departments and external suppliers.
Working as part of a large team this role is hands on with direct influence and contribution towards the product range, brand and process development.
·Managing projects in the development of new products, product improvements, cost reduction and production efficiency from initial concept brief, formulation, trial to full factory production and implementation.
·Organise and manage trials to validate or modify experimental formulas and processing procedures to develop final specifications for the production of finished products and ensure reproducibility
·Work with the team to ensure the delivery and successful start-ups of these new products, product improvement, cost reduction, ingredient, formula, specification, or process changes.
·Providing and ensure accurate collation of information towards ingredient, recipe and finished product costings.
·Liaising with retail customers in the continuous improvement of existing sku’s.
·Sourcing, testing, determining the specification and specifying the use of, new ingredients, industrial natural flavourings, additives and processing aids, meats, vegetables, dairy products and bakery goods.
·Documents all work according to established procedures and guidelines and prepare or assist in preparing various project reports to project personnel and other parties to ensure complete communication of project status, progress, issues, solutions, timeline, and accountability
·Hosting both internal customer product sampling panels as part of development cycle, evaluating results and achieving target product profile to achieve a successful launch.
The Person
The successful candidate will have a food qualification and experience of successful product launches into the major retailers and compliance withdocumented BRC requirements
