The Role
The purpose of the position is to support the Process Development Manager in driving cost saving projects through the operation focusing on existing and new process to bring cost based benefits. Also, assisting in completing factory trials and associated samples / paperwork to ensure effective delivery of NPD and EPD to the customer within the agreed time frame, when peak activities occur.
Key Responsibilities
Cost savings
· Deliver saving by identifying and validation new processes in the operation, working in conjunction with Engineering operations and technical department
· Review and develop existing process to ensure benefits to operations.
· Completing Factory trials in conjunction with the cost saving programme, organizing the trials and consolidating the results to ensure all effort is maximized, and benefits documented
· Manage the sap changes as required following process development work
Process Development
• Factory trials in conjunction with the customer’s critical path – organizing the trials and consolidating the results to ensure all effort is maximised.
• To aid the procurement team with replacement ingredient development and managing this on the site and with the customer .
• Well organized, with a technical background (either from experience in a low risk and high risk operation (min 5 yrs) or degree qualified with 3-5 years experience).
• Sound knowledge of food manufacturing with customer retail experience.
• Must be a forward thinker, with a practicable approach.
• Problem solving and a good team player across many functions.
• Must have confidence / experience when dealing with a retail customer
