A growing and dynamic family owned manufacturer of a wide range food products. Customers range from UK based Food Manufacturers and major multiples major buying groups . A progressive company that is enjoying sustained growth and has recently moved to a brand new manufacturing facility
Interpretation of briefs from the Development Manager and specific customers to create cost effective products covering a number of different disciplines, from blue sky creative, through process development, to existing product redevelopment and raw material evaluation.
The role requires consistent flexibility in approach, ranging from kitchen trial work to factory floor production. It requires close co-operation with several areas of the business including the technical, production and accounts departments.
The Role
• Prepare detailed development briefs for the preparation of samples
• Assist with the presentation of development work on-site, and with the preparation for visits to existing and potential customers.
• Co-ordinate new packaging design/printing with the relevant
• Liaise with ingredient manufacturers & suppliers
• Prepare detailed technical specifications
• Organise and assist with factory trials and first production runs
• Present development work on site and organise visit to existing and potential customers.
• Upgrade or redevelop existing product in-line with development briefs, or to meet revised costing’s/production requirements.
• Keep abreast of competitor products and current trends.
• Experience in food manufacturing and at least 2 years in product development.
• A knowledge and or background in chilled foods would be required
• Previous experience of dealing with the multiples in own label as well as branded
