The Role ·Develop a departmental strategy in order to drive the business forward by proactively looking for ways to improve departmental performance ·Deliver on key performance indicators such as material variance, labour, productivity, H&S, service level and quality standards. ·Maximise continuous improvement opportunities within the department, ·Plan and control the level of labour, capital and material resources against planned production requirements ·Drive quality standards throughout the department, working in partnership with the Technical team ·Liaise with the Commercial team on New Product Development, plan and agree resource commitments in line with production planning ·Manage budgets (labour and materials) to ensure product value is maximised ·Develop and manage projects to drive business change and improvements, set up interdepartmental project teams where appropriate ·Ensure compliance to legislative and business/customer standards and play a key role in site visits and audits ·Demonstrate excellent people management skills ·Coach and develop direct reports to make decisions and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving. ·Drive communication and employee engagement within the department ·Partner with HR in enhancing and maintaining strong employee relations ·Ensure that the H&S Policy is applied to all areas and accidents remain in line with departmental targets The Person A background in a Blue Chip Manufacturing in fast paced, high volume production would be beneficial together with a good working knowledge of World Class Manufacturing Techniques – SMED, TPM, 5 “S”, Kaizen The Background Production Manager – Manufacturing Manager – Shift Manager
