The Role
• Diagnostic investigation of faulty process plant and equipment to establish the cause of the problem and carry out the necessary repair or replacement
• Implement planned maintenance and statutory inspection and testing routines
• Monitor plant and equipment and implement on remedial work required
• Carry out routine mechanical installation work.
• Refer serious problems to the engineering supervisor for further instructions.
• Maintain steam raising, refrigeration, compressed air, process gases and water distribution plant in optimum condition of efficiency
• Maintain standby generator plant in optimum condition which is run monthly.
• Installation of capital and revenue projects.
• Recommendation of specifications for mechanical installations
The Person
• Good knowledge of the principles of mechanical engineering and utilities plant.
• Can demonstrate good practical mechanical engineering knowledge and skills.
• The ability to understand and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
• Electrical knowledge would be advantageous
